What I Did for my  OWN HAIR

Ideas pop into my head for their own reasons.. . sometimes, I feel like just a tool.  (tho, a cooperative one).  Just brushed my hair and I thought, “so glad it’s easier to care for now” . .s’ fuller, . .was always healthy and abundant – – not as magnificent as Mother’s (she of the biggest, best everything, e.g. she had red sparkly hair that always caught everyone’s attention which she kept coiffed professionally. . mine was a blah blonde,   her skin didn’t know what a pimple was. and I had become acne-prone,  she had lovely trim ankles while I was blessed with the heavier Norwegian limbs,  Her bra size was some kind of curse per her mind,  a D or Double D while I scrounged up some sort of A. .  which didn’t move much til I got pregnant (at 30) at which time, they seemed to go crazy then normalize.

Mother was not only special to behold, she was amazing thru and thru, she saw stuff,  she knew stuff and almost nothing she couldn’t do.  Highly creative.  Her humor and sense of fun were outstanding and attractive.  But the stuff she could see, hear and know – – weirded me out – – couldn’t handle it.  Still can’t. . . nor the spooky stuff kids are into now with space aliens and the undead and so on.  I leave it alone and all that leaves me alone. . but then, I’ve all but worshipped at the altar of beauty and light. It makes my world somewhat understandable, logical, healthy and sane.  Works for me.

Back to the hair.  Few years ago, my hair started bunching up in every comb-full or brushful – of course this was upsetting to me.  Mother’s hair did thin in the end, but she wasn’t in danger of baldness. . . and I deemed, I was.   I remembered back to years in my home state California, where I was quite interested in all things health related.

MSM jumped out at me.  I believed it, that it helped hair, skin and nails and tho I had some – – hadn’t been using it for a number of years. Accessed and started taking it (think about a 5 cc spoon  or scant teaspoon in water daily. [can’t hurt ya]. Went to check it just now and my scoop is a 5cc OK, but have it in a container that says dosage is 1/4 tsp or 1 CC on the “Doctor’s Best.”  What can I say?. .have been dosing that much cuz I thot that’s what I used to do.  It’s worked. But, just scaled the scoop down to 1 cc in case anybody’s watching me.  Here’s where I buy my powder @BulkSupplements,  Pure MSM (Methysulfonylmethane) Powder (1 kilogram),  Its about $16.00 – lasts a long time.  Can get it in smallish bottles – Doctor’s Best, 250 grams about $7.00 to  $12 or so  might do it for ya.

(from the jar)Best MSM supplies highly purified MSM (methylsulfonylmethane), a compound notable for its methyl groups (required for numerous metabolic functions) and the conditionally essential mineral sulfur, which is a crucial component of powerful antioxidants such as N-acetylcysteine and glutathione. Although MSM occurs naturally in some foods and in the human body at low amounts, a significant amount of MSM is lost during the heating and processing of foods.  (Hardly anyone gets enuff of this stuff).

EVERYBODY knows Vitamin A IS  for hair, skin and nails. . we grew up with that. . it’s pretty standard. Generally, one takes around 25,000 IU daily, me too.  Check Google if want more detail. We need it. Additionally, I take ZINC  Picolinate 50 Mg daily.  This is one of the necessary supplements (IMO) with  Vitamin C, D (and K2) and Magnesium and Iodine.  Some things, we just gotta have, like it or not if we want a degree  of health which is tolerable.  Our food isn’t as vital as it once was + all the chemicals we fight because there is no escaping so much from A to Z.        Anyway, it crossed my mind, so I thought it might be of interest to others as well.   Keep brushing (your hair)      Jan
