Meridians, continued. . .

The Rest of the Meridians

Decided that I would finish the job as I said I would.   Apologise for imperfections in cropping, etc.,.  . . not going to bother my son again for a redo;  he was more than kind to  sacrifice some of his limited time to try to help me accomplish what I was really wanting to do.   Almost done now, and I guess I’m kinda pleased.  Either some readers are into this or won’t be, but I’ve tried.  My purpose is  to help others help themselves.  Medicine today is ‘crazy’. .  .  far too costly to access – – worse to use and often injurious, leaving our masses in need, hurting and sometimes  dead.   .  .  a pill for every pain —  so far from what is needed.

I’m at this blog just shy of ten years sharing my views on the beauty and wonder of our planet, touching on the arts, sciences and the ways we might find to keep it running smoothly and fairly in consideration of all total needs for balance, equilibrium and health for the flora, fauna, animals (of which we are a part),  and all the solid and liquid parts of earth.   Destroying  parts affects the whole. Every cell of every part of the cosmos has innate intelligence and generally will cooperate intelligently with the whole.  Because, every cell, every one of us. . .is part of the whole – we are linked,   and whether we ‘know it’ or not, we feel it – – s’ how it works.  We are one.

Anyway, Eden Energy is truly a natural (organic) path to bring about harmony within ourselves.  I can’t remember her dwelling on  dietary needs.   Because of her brilliant ability to “see” the body, it’s pathways and flow of energy – -she sees at a glance where the problems are and is capable of moving and aligning those energies into normal rhythm and function.  This essentially is what her books are about – the various techniques and movements in so doing.        I, on the other hand have approached health bliss primarily through quality of food, it’s intake, digestion and utilization.  Have ventured here and there with natural, herbal,  plant-based choices to subdue or eliminate unwanted conditions which many call diseases such as my own six > arthritis, heart/A-fib, HBP, COPD,  and Thyroid – which started it all.

So my approach has worked for me i.e.. . . being as organic and clean and raw as possible, avoiding all or as much as  possible of prepared anything such as commercial cosmetics, dental care or cleaning products to minimize toxic taint in my abode or kitchen. . . even my small gardening efforts.  Tote my herbal/live  substance to the roses almost daily and scratch it into the loamy soil.  My enormous, happy house plants get about a full rounded 1/2 tsp of Kelp powder in the watering can. I do the best I can, because they love me back . . the way I love them.  When I must heat my place, the humidifier comes out to keep our tissues moist and healthy.

There are many paths up that mountain. . . whatever works. . . . to each his own. . . we mix and match to suit our needs. . . don’t worry,  we’ll know.

Back to the Meridians,  they are continued below;  not going to worry if you can read all as I might have preferred, once you get your book. . you can make any corrections or add own notes.     But until you do that,  just wanted to mention that I do  the “Tracings” at least 3 times each . .  sometimes more.  Also, the heart and Lungs, more,  for sure.

Our lives being structured  as they are currently, some things seem built-in, like STRESSORS . . we all must cope with this.  Too much is or can be ruinous to health, especially to the Adrenals (sitting atop the kidneys) which then materialize in so many body woes and pains. The book details the pathways of energies and one finds the organs or glands involved > then work on those particular pathways, and so on.    Triple Warmer is one which becomes dominant so easily (triggered by all the stressors we face whether they are dangerous or not), TW deems it is,  and fights for our life in a split second  – – could be a tiger behind the next move  – en garde!  So up goes our defenses (TW). . storming away, stress mounts, hurting us more.   TW needs calming down and SPLEEN needs to be strengthened.  So ya learn a few moves. . .carry on,  .  feeling better.  Sincerely hope  you find this helpful.  Jan

Eden Energy techniques

Tracing Meridians

I started this post almost a month ago, seriously wanting to complete it.   So much stuff.   Computer problems. . .mouse died needed replacing.  Missing warmth and Sun (and California’s blessed weather – at least it was when I dwelt there). .  these bleak, wet,  darker days filled with unwelcome news  – – mostly more of the same,   but it does seem it’s building toward much anticipated conclusion; one can hope!

Most “smokinchoices” readers know that I highly endorse Donna Eden’s  “ENERGY MEDICINE”.  Have used it over the years  and feel that I have profited much from it. One can’t synopsize the content.   Nor does it capture ‘all  she knows’ – – possibly, nothing could.  For as she would probably agree .  .  she too is a work-in-progress, as is everybody else.  Tho she inherited many weakness and a frail body, a saving element was her family were ‘all sighted’  (so-called subtle vision),  as humans all once were, it is said  – and may still be. . I dunno. We have so many things to deal with when we  are new and small . . . how to use our body, . .figure out all we see and do and can’t yet find words for. . .unless there is verbalization and acceptance of it woven into our growth path. . . this ability, unused, generally fades til  seems gone.  But she covers her  youth and experiences which eventually forced her into deliberate trial and error as she was unable to secure any meaningful help to survive.  Medicine as we know it could not help her at all;   she was on her own.  She could see all her scrambled energies and set out to experiment and learn, continuing onward  until she became what we see now, an incomparable healer. .  .  bestowing those energies and lessons everywhere they are sought.  Our good fortune.

Have wondered [since owning her books], why my own sighted mother didn’t ever discuss or encourage along this line.  But even as I think about it, I feel I know ‘why.’  Her natural (?) visions and stories brought her much trauma, beatings and berating  – her own mother, calling her a witch!   Her stories were called lies, even tho they proved true. Mother had been second born of 12, and undoubtedly one of the most helpful and trustworthy of all their children.  In fact, as the awful illness which plagued our world in 1917,  developed and raged, flattened and even killed so many, little 7 year old Amaliana was the only one standing who could tend her family’s incredible needs.  Her excellence with chores and tending the oncoming babies secured her preference in those duties within the family.  Such things are mystifying, to say the least.    However, with this family history, it is logical that perhaps, she wouldn’t have wanted her own daughter to suffer as she had,  for no reason. . for speaking truth as she saw it.  Nor did she have to learn to see and say – it’s the way she was born.

As I got into Donna’s  ENERGY MEDICINE  book, I was forever making notes to myself.  Learning that the techniques really worked and I enjoyed doing them.   Certain of the movements were for me, complicated to do and  commit to memory;   i.e. . .there were 14 meridians, each with it own paths (and rulerships of organs and energies) with starting and ending points.  The sketched renderings were on certain pages and the relevant direction in ‘words’ were found elsewhere.  What I needed, were the sketches and ‘how-to’s’ on the same page.  I wanted to craft a collection of these positions/ instructions, on a separate sheet devoted to each meridian –  at the same time.  This would allow my doing certain ones as needed, or some,  or all of them together with greater ease I could avail at will, without too much head scratching and flipping pages.  My artistic abilities weren’t as crafty or practised as once had been, but hey, it worked for me!  Printing each out, then pairing  as an example, I could have the LIVER and KIDNEY, back to back, secured in a sheet protector;   ditto with the HEART and LUNG;  the SPLEEN and TRIPLE-WARMER. . and so on.  It helped me a lot.

One, of course, still needs to read the book carefully in order to “get” why we would even want to do this stuff. . learning the  full relevance as to why anyone would do it in the first place.  So, all those ‘paths’, their relevance to certain organs and learning the flow of energies;   how any meridian may be blocked and/or  unblocked. . . (one can dominate, block or usurp the energies of another meridian – – as in spleen and triple-warmer).  If left unrecognised, one can remain in almost perpetual fight or flight syndrome.  But resolving those energies with her ‘Tracing techniques’ (and others like strengthening some or reducing the levels when overactive) can then harmonize one’s energies to a place wherein we are free to move, act and choose according to our best judgement.   Anyway, for those who are maybe something like me  (can’t just inhale new stuff, easily), my plan is to bring these sketchings  such as they are here to “Smokinchoices” in order to share with any of you who might wish to try them for yourself. . .  .  but with a caveat —  please get the book in order to know what you are doing and why you even should.  So go for the book. . buy,  . lend from library,  . borrow it or steal it – no other way to really utilize this stuff for your greatest benefit.   . .  .  just do it

My son came over, put them into his phone, created a file, put it on my desktop so I could access for input on “Smokinchoices.”  So, let’s see if I can do it

So hard to read this one,   here goes. ..   .   Place fingers under ball of each foot, middle finger in line with space between first and 2nd toes.     Draw fingers up to inside of each foot,   circle behind the inside of each ankle bone;  then go up the inside of the legs and front of the body to K 27 (which are) the Kidney Points beneath the clavicle at the top of the sternum.  Vigorously massage these points.

Well, I’ve gotten this far. . but I’m not overly happy with images.  Cropping is off; Originals are crisp black on clear white sheets.  This post is gonna run too big (long).     If anybody is 1/2 way into this – tell me, or else. . I’ll have to think about next effort.    Jan

Still morphing w/Fruit thing

Love the Fruit, but needing some protein

The Fruit thing –  –  not ready to say I’m rejecting it. . . still accept and get the reasoning behind it.  That’s why I’m doing it.  At 88, perhaps it wasn’t the most natural thing I could have done . . say at 25 or 48  or whatever age.  But how could I KNOW unless I tested it in the only laboratory I have > my body?  After a few weeks I had to start adding back in my (kitchen sink) kind of salads. . . why?. . well of course I missed them, needed them.  Was overjoyed and strove on.  Had also had to include, one by one, of my personalized protocol I had done my best to develop, test – then do (rather successfully. . I might add). . ya really gotta do what it takes when it comes to the blessed heart, no farting around with new theories; already done that when I removed myself from allopathic medical care. . . periodically, even have experienced normal blood pressure. . which my assortment of docs and specialists couldn’t do.  And of course, there’s nuthin’ to be done for my COPD or Alzheimer’s issues, right?   Still, what’s to be concluded from the still functioning pulmonary system? . . or the valiant brain, still kicking-butt [at least, limping along] for over 15 years.  My June blood test was professionally done. .  . as close to XLNT as ya can get for ‘any octogenarian’.     So I wasn’t near death’s door when I started all this. .   .   just wanted to see how much ‘better’ maybe, I could get.   What follows is not proof of any kind.  It’s just one elder playing around.. .who maybe shouldn’t have been, I dunno. . .  .

. .  . .  so, for whatever it’s worth;  if one has  even a limited degree of self discipline, .  .it works,. . can work!  I’ve done it  only adding back in more raw veggies for salad, .   .  at other times, kale and cabbage, onions, peppers, garlic, cauliflower or whatever else is in frig to the mix for a ravishingly  delicious omelet fried up in butter from grass-fed cows.  Oh, my Gawd  – to die for.  A time or two, have roasted (minimally) cauliflower, zucchini, peppers, etc about 20″ to go with a  sweet potato topped off with coconut oil salt and garlic. . get weak just to think about it.  But per Dr Morse’s book, fruits and veggies are the desired, optimal preference for humans,  so all okay.  Am living primarily on fruit tho and generally satisfied.  So how am I doing?           Actually, not so good.  Still trying to keep up with everything as before and it’s much harder.  Low on energy, drive, desire to do.   Usually have one project fighting another,  for time and attention (Gemini Moon, ya know – afflicted by Saturn – – for any interested in such stuff)    The thing is,  not really any protein; gave away all my animal proteins . . and nuts and cheeses, and sardines since I knew if this stuff was in the house, I’d search them out no matter where they were hiding.   Lastly,  what confuses me  – -my pee is still pretty, pale yellow and clear as a bell.    Supposed to be some sediment or ugly stuff in it – – where the hell is my garbage going?  I don’t have any cysts, tumors, congestion, bulges or lumps.  Tho I look pretty darned healthy. . my struggle isn’t seeming to be worth it.  It’s over two months and countin’. – you’d think I’d have some other stuff in my pee by now,  but there either isn’t any.  .  .  or  maybe I have simply misunderstood something relevant and perhaps, this path may not be as good for me as I thought it would be.   It isn’t possible for me to be any stricter on this effort without falling on my face,  just not willing to test it that far.  Because I do enjoy the fruit and it’s type of higher-vibrational energy, that I have experienced, I’m willing to continue with it – – but modified to include some animal protein, nuts and cheese here and there.   I can not overlook the loss in energy and desire to do.  It equates with going over the hill.  Very uncomfortable. .  . as if  I’ve given up.  Not a bad thing if that is one’s choice. . .  but didn’t think I had.  Gonna struggle with this a bit more for an acceptable solution

When my son stopped by today, after hearing my quandary and noticing my lack of energy. . ventured a brief, humorous logic which I recognised as his way of engaging a difference of opinion minus the lecture which clearly reminded. . if ya need energy, eat some protein.    It was good to see that he was speaking what I had already begun to accept.    Then, he took care of my dilemma of  ‘how to get my illustrations for a post I have been trying to finish for over a month on Tracing Meridians I learned from Donna Eden.’   So  Monday, I’ll try to get the job finished. . .which I gotta tell ya – will sure make me happy.

You know, God only granted me one kid, but he sure has been a good one. .  my gratitude, beloved son                             Jan

Venus under ‘raging assault’. . still

Assault on all levels continue, we fight back

Even as Eve tried showing her preference. . . back in ‘the’ garden, and was evicted from paradise;  it seems the burden of her fate, nevertheless – – permeated the eternal ether – – projecting forward throughout all time, as we have lived-witnessed it.  Is there to be no forgiveness?. . . so little comprehension of the absurdity/cruelty and absolute injustice to the so-called weaker, more frail of the two sexes?  Was our ‘creator’ really so offended? . . . did he/she actually have such a great need for total obedience/fealty?  To tell you the truth, I honestly don’t know.  As I grew into adulthood and forward,. .  .  my views have deepened and broadened to a comfortable, more global perspective of creativity, divinity, as in both loving force and universal glue.

The God of my childhood, I’m sorry to say was scary,  as I was terrified of HIM. . no matter how much Mother loved, trusted him and so often spoke to him as she poured out her heart.  Somehow, she was born to this intimacy and trust with the almighty  to whom she was totally devoted.  But then, she also adored her father (and she seemed to be, quaintly – his favorite among his 12) tho, he beat the unholy crap  out of her whenever he deemed it necessary.  Some stuff, I’ve never understood. .s’ beyond me.  Was an outsider along those lines, but toed whatever line was laid before me the best I could, because I believed Mother when she said God cold read my every thought. Kid you not – messed with my head, a lot.  Because she “could” read my mind – she said it was right there on my forehead, and  as I  had already learned. . it was and she could!

But, all this aside.  .  it seems women (Venus) has never experienced true equality with men (Mars).  Sure, we’ve progressed beyond the caveman dragging his wench into the cave on demand, thank God.  But it’s not enough.

Nature has wisely fashioned us in such a way that we do and will always need one another. . . it’s built into our design.   Spelled  out it’s SEXUAITY.    Of course, there is the physical dynamic which is a big driving force – men and women alike, admitted or not.  But it’s more than bedroom pleasure, it’s  also in daily camaraderie, give and take, the inborn attractions between us.  Some appetites are bigger than others, no matter – – we’ll always find a way toward balance and equilibrium, because of how, what and who we are.  It can be a learning  process.  If we weren’t taught as children to share, and say please. . ya know – get along, .  .  .  we become bullies and just grab what we think  we want – – cooperation not needed.  When these tactics don’t yield satisfaction (no GOOD feelings),  we can start to grope around for something else which can leave us feeling better;  further effort can bring successful living. . no matter what.   s’ the way it works.

So, the ‘attraction’ part is an inborn given.  However, successful living is based on ethics,  morality, equality and the LAW.  All of this is truly needed for any of it to become norm.  So far,  it hasn’t happened.   Again progress has been made.  Venus has broken glass-ceilings in almost all the professions, arts and trades, the military, .  . . much of it having been hard-won over huge obstacles.  Venus is showing/ demonstrating to the world her capacity, capability, willingness, strength-of-purpose and desire to do what?    Her equality in strength in size or muscle – NO, nothing to do with that whatsoever;  her desire to be whatever she wishes for herself. . .her expression of who she is,  her right to be who and what she is capable of being.  Because, it’s fair, the right to BE, CHOOSE for oneself.   As it should be.  That’s what it is for our sons — why not the same for our daughters?

These freedoms  – – our so-called RIGHTS aren’t gender-specific,  they are neutral.  .  apply to all.  Even so, certain extremists feel driven, compelled to assert restrictions over female reproductive systems.  Going on for centuries.  We do have laws which allow equal rights to all UNDER THE LAW.  Nevertheless,  as the number of states multiplies who have imposed HARSH RELIGIOUS  RESTRICTIONS with regard to personal choices, medically – – whether it is reproductive or not is totally without basis UNDER THE LAW!  Our Supreme courts do not serve the United States of GOD, . . but instead – THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.  This is a country of people who chose these and make these decisions and America has already chosen to say BUT OUT – this is what we want. The Supreme Court honored this.  It is the Law!

40 – 50 years ago, I was willing to go to the wall for this law, because it was and still is – THE RIGHT THING TO DO. Yes, I  would have died for this as I believe in it, tho I have no skin in the game.  My problem was always Why can’t I get a baby?    (Married 7 years befor son came along)  Government has no place, reason or cause to interfere with a woman’s right to care for her body and life decisions for her own personal  choice without explanation or justification. It’s nobody’s business but her own (and maybe her doctor).  It is certainly not the business of a bunch of biased, bigoted extremists to decide otherwise.  The bible isn’t into nor does it cover abortion.  But it has plenty to say about giving to Caesar, and honoring the Laws of the Land.

Don’t keep trying to test the FEMALE population of our country – – WE WON’T STAND FOR IT.   For God’s sake, why can’t you just but out – – live and let live?  Surely any 1/2 intelligent person could find something worthwhile to do with all their free-time to enrich rather than disrupt.

Get so carried away sometimes. . if I touch the faucet – it just gushes out.   Moyers and Company did it to me again,. .and there I go  !          so,  ya can blame him     This is so special;  sorry, it really took me back a few years.  It’s so damned important.  Won’t say ‘enjoy’. . it’s not that kind of thing .    But Bill Moyer’s “NO CHOICE” is relevant and needing action + Bill’s message @ end of it                                                         Thanks for tolerating me            Jan

From chaos, change can rise

We’re all feeling this

One might hope that readers who visit “Smokinchoices” will  understand that I have literally turned myself inside out in order to NOT discuss the current political climate; . . yes, my aversion runs that deep.  The bias and disgust surges out. . and I’ve tried so hard to not do that to myself – – or you.  Even tho it may seem somewhat passe these days,  still do truly enjoy – – yea, even thrive on intelligent discussion as expressed by others whom I very much admire.   so, I’m letting others do the engaging who abide by the rules of ‘good conduct’ without making fools of themselves as I have done (as with my tirades on Hillary last year before, in the end – voting for her [holding my nose]. . .   .  or the endless running on [and on] I did on the vulgar ‘fart’ who now resides on Pennsylvania Avenue.. . not that I could be accused of any such bad behavior. .!  So, you see what I mean?

We mustn’t glorify who we are. . we’ve had a kinda strange history – – crack open any history book for proof.  We are basically a robust, capable, earthy and diverse complex of all known. . variety of our species,. . . with both fire and  braun. . yet manifesting a delicate. . even poetic gentleness among us.  We can be angelic, creative – builders, and some rowdy and daring and determined or courageous.  We can be raucous or dreamers, fighters or lovers.  We are diverse.  Not alike.   Nothing wrong with any of that. Because of individual backgrounds, ethnicity,  how we think,. . what drives us. . we ARE all different.  No way we can think alike. We aren’t going to agree on too many things.

But mostly, we kinda like — PREFER our country; how we do things, the freedom to choose or be whatever ‘we decide’ because we know our rights to be and choose is guaranteed.  Comes with being an American.  We honor ethics here (tho our definition may differ), and integrity (tho  some are out to get anything they want any way at all).  Still, these principles run through our society and our educational systems.  It is easy to show and give respect to others, because,  essentially. . .that’s how we live and learn to do it.  It works.  Even tho we are not the same.  And in all this, we know how good this is because America excels in distinctive ways which we take for granted, because that’s how Democracy works. And most of us, wouldn’t have it any other way.  When one suffers – others do too;  because we care about one another,. .s’the way it works.   Much of the world admires/trusts us. . . who we are.

Multitudes become upset when status quos are jimmied, rules broken, systems disparaged – – when lies and deception become the norm. When our national mood of patriotism and cooperation goes up in a cloud of smoke born of trauma, fear and distrust and even pain.  But this is where many of us are now. . and getting scarier every day.  How could any of this be happening? Easy to sink into stress and concern when one’s world goes upside down.  Everything changes. Everyone knows this isn’t right – it shouldn’t be happening.  Our way of life worked – not perfectly, but had a proper routine which served the needs of all of us and was working to make it better. Instead we’re invaded by mad-men and haters and those who are pitting us one against the other, leaving us with chaos in the streets.           And it’s hard to avoid. . on TV nite and day, in the papers, etc.,. etc.,..  enough, already!

Because all the above which can’t be avoided,   I chose to offer something I found from Moyers and Company and automatically was reminded that cool heads can discuss any of this dispassionately without sinking into despair or ugliness. . . instead this insightful discussion reminded me of much about us; some of our strengths and how we have repeatedly come thru bitter times like these.  We can endure, become stronger and wiser and hopefully learn a thing or two.  Just might help renew our faith in ourselves. . we can get through this.   It helps that Bill Moyers is one whom I trust and a favorite source of life’s relevant stuff. And his discussion is with a brilliant historian/writer.   It’s quite a long discussion covering much while showing us that we have gone thru such weird times often in our history in both worse and lesser degrees.  I have attempted to whet your appetie with a couple of isolated paragraphs.  I was helped,  hope you are too.    Jan

Moyers: So Republican Sens. Jeff Flake and Bob Corker gave up, and others, like Sen. Lindsey Graham, gave in. And here are the headlines in The New York Times:

  • Acquiesce or Go Home
  • Party With Less and Less Room for Older Breed Of Conservative

In other words, Donald Trump owns the Republican Party.

Rick Perlstein: That’s right. It’s like Ivory soap, “99 and 1/100 percent pure,” remember? Oh, the apostasy of Jeff Flake. The senator from Arizona gives this very histrionic speech about how Trump has introduced evasion and demagoguery and all these awful things into the Republican Party — and then announces he’s quitting. He’s really saying, “I’m not going to fight it. I’m going to surrender to it.” Remember, he’s voted 90 percent of the time with the Trump/Republican agenda. And then later that day, he and the other brave, bold critic in the Republican establishment, Sen. Bob Corker, both voted to end the rule that would have allowed people to sue banks and credit card companies that rip them off. They get to have their cake and eat it, too. They basically make a material contribution to the very damage to the body politic in the afternoon that they decry in the morning.

.    .    .    .   .

Perlstein: Life’s unfair, no? So I’m saying, I wouldn’t get too hopeless. Some interesting things are happening now.

Moyers: I don’t recommend any rose-colored glasses, Rick. You have written over and again that our society has never been one of consensus. Americans are always in conflict, polarized, competing and fighting.

Perlstein: Our national community builds in the act of transcending original wounds. If you think back to the late 18th century to the constitutional convention where delegates were trying to figure out a way to hold together a nascent commercial society in the North and a feudal society in the South, and doing it over the bodies of enslaved Africans and yet at the same time were superintended by a new Constitution professing ideals of liberty and individual dignity — man, that’s very heady stuff and not something that lends itself to easy accord. We’d like to believe that we’re united and at peace with ourselves and that we have the will to transcend and even repress those original psychic wounds—

Moyers: But we’re yoked to reality, including human nature—

Perlstein: Which gets us in a heck of a lot of trouble. So I try to get people to face hard truths in the interest of a difficult healing and a grace that is not cheap.

Moyers: The most somber realist in the White House, despite passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, was Lyndon Johnson. He kept watching [Alabama Gov.] George Wallace campaigning in primaries rallying white Democratic voters. Wallace would in effect say things like, “I’m all for the New Deal. I’m just not for it for black folks.” Johnson saw the blowback coming.

Well, not successful getting the story over here. [I really should just hang-it-up as  seem to have forgotten how to do simple stuff.]  Of course one is granted freedom to share it anywhere, but I don’t remember how to get it from my email to my blog.. . Still not putting my glasses in the frig, but am the first to admit – just not as sharp, or agile as a year or two ago.  So I’ll type the link and you can copy and paste into your browser.    Hope it works,  you might find it truly worthwhile and informative.   J
