Barefoot is ‘cool’

From Dr Joseph Mercola.  This is a very relevant, helpful and informative article.  I highly endorse the overall concept completely as the whole “Grounding” thing has been widely proven.  Through my own youth I knew such wild, carefree abandon while I investigated every nook and cranny I could find – – barefoot!  Won’t deny that I stepped on a few nails and often broke skin, had quite a few stitches  – – but I never – ever broke anything! The price of freedom perhaps.     These days, I only don shoes if I’m leaving the house to shop.    Jan

Grounding: The Potent Antioxidant That Few Know About… And It’s Free

Running

Story at-a-glance

  • Emerging evidence suggests running shoes may alter your gait, causing you to strike the ground heel-first, increasing your collision force with the ground and increasing the risk of injury
  • Barefoot running encourages you to strike the ground with the cushioned fore-foot, which is a more natural gait
  • Humans have been running barefoot, or close to it, since the beginning of time; running shoes were only invented in the 1970s
  • Going barefoot also allows you to “ground” with the Earth and absorb negative electrons from the Earth through the soles of your feet; this grounding effect is one of the most potent antioxidants we know of and may have an anti-inflammatory effect on your body

The Potent Antioxidant That Few Know About… And It’s Free
It may be one of the most powerful antioxidants on the planet and may have an anti-inflammatory effect on your body, too. It can potentially normalize your daily cortisol rhythm and improve your sleep, and help reduce pain and inflammation. Best of all… it’s available to you at little or no cost
