Tom needs top dating service

World’s worst dating service

Before Tom Cruise got together with Katie Holmes, the Church of Scientology auditioned actresses to date its highest-profile member, an article in Vanity Fair claims.

Starlets involved in the church were told they were auditioning for a Scientology training film, but then they were asked,

“What do you think of Tom Cruise?” according to Maureen Orth of the magazine.

The project was run by Shelly Miscavige, wife of Scientology leader David, in 2004, sources said — although the church has denied that it ever existed and dismissed the sources as disgruntled former Scientologists.

Marc Headley, who wrote the Scientology expose Blown for Good, claimed that he watched several audition tapes.

Candidates were expected to “toe the line for Scientology,” he said — as former significant others Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz had failed to do — or the actor would “freak out.

After an intensive screening process, the church eventually chose British-Iranian actress Nazanin Boniadi, the article says. She was reportedly ordered to change her hair color, dump her boyfriend and swear to secrecy before dating Cruise from November 2004 to January 2005.

During the brief relationship, Orth wrote, Boniadi was reported to Scientology officials for any minor slight against Cruise or David Miscavige, and her only source of income was a credit card from Cruise’s production company. In January 2005, the church told Boniadi that the relationship was over because Cruise wanted “someone with her own power  — like Kidman,”  according to Vanity Fair.

Tom Cruise and Nazanin Boniadi:   Maybe he should try or eHarmony instead.

(When you are such a great guy, it must be really hard to find “anyone” who truly “measures up,”  don’t you think folks?   Poor Tom,   sigh            Remember the couch episode on the Oprah show?    His great “LOVE” sure has no depth.  This love-of-his-life – – turned her out without a  penny after she bore this beautiful child for him. . . . of course, the child presumably will lack for nothing.  But, with Tom, who knows?      Jan)
