It’s Time to Change American Disease-Management into a Health-Fostering System
The Health Care Red Flag You Need to Pay Attention To
Don’t ignore this new warning by Dr. Andrew Weil (and it’s one I wholeheartedly agree with)… While Americans play Russian roulette with one of the leading causes of both death and bankruptcy in the US, it’s time to heed these 6 steps to escape its potential wrath before it’s too late…
- The US does not have a health care system; we have a disease-management system that is dependent on expensive drugs and invasive surgeries. It’s a system rooted in an ideal of maximized profits, opposed to helping people maintain or regain their health
- The US spends more on health care than the next 10 biggest spenders combined: Japan, Germany, France, China, the U.K., Italy, Canada, Brazil, Spain and Australia, yet the US ranks last in health and mortality analysis of 17 developed nations
- Integrative medicine (IM) is a better alternative to the current system, as it offers a combination of conventional medical therapies and complementary or alternative therapies “for which there is some high-quality scientific evidence of safety and effectiveness”
- The Affordable Health Care Act is likely to make matters far worse rather than better, as the Act does not include any strategies to prevent illness. Nor does it contain any measures to rein in or reduce out-of-control health care costs related to overcharges. Instead it expands an already flawed model of “care” that has been and continues to be one of the leading causes of both death and bankruptcy in the US
Of course, I should just say “Amen” and shut up. . . I sincerely wish I could do that. You all know, I can’t, don’t you?
This issue is much more than a ground-swell of people getting fed up and DEMANDING “health-care” instead of business as usual that we now have. Why? Because Big Business owns our government and almost all the people who populate it. If not when they arrive – - full of zip and ideals and good intentions, in no time at all, they learn how business is REALLY DONE IN WASHINGTON. And that has not much to do with what people WANT or need, so this is soon brushed aside and stuff just keeps on keepin’ on. The problems are so huge and broadly spread - it is not conducive to a simple explanation. For it encompasses USDA, EPA, FDA, AMA and BIG PhRMA and so on. Highly placed individuals and even department heads all come from the high ranks of the very companies who are responsible for the destruction of the health of our people., with Big AG and Big PhRMA leading the way and the Chemical companies who are poisoning the earth and all the inhabitants thereof.
Though we the people continue to make our wishes known by signing petitions, speaking to our elected officials, we are ignored. Anyone can see we are dealing with a rigged system. When a government is no longer responsive to it’s people, everything breaks down. Magnificent voices like the one coming from Obama start to ring hollow. He knows what constitutes good nutrition – most certainly, Michelle does! Good nutrition should not be just for the wealthy. The land always gives nutritious food, that’s the way it was designed. But when the land becomes permanently sterilized, it is incapable of yielding up life sustaining nutrients which were once there. We are fed instead, synthetic, abbreviated chemicals which only serve to poison us directly causing our slow starvation and system breakdown which reflects in all the diseases Americans (especially) are manifesting.
This is the background color from which our trauma issues. The actual players are the Medical schools totally funded by the Pharmaceutical industry who train up our med students to understand how medicine operates. The emphasis hasn’t been on health, what it is, how it is achieved and/or maintained, but instead on DISEASE and what that is and how we manage it. Which is to say. . .a pill or procedure for every disease. And with every passing day, we do in fact have more and more diseases. If it weren’t such a tragedy, we could all laugh at the inanity of it all. The hoax is too large, no-one can believe it even when they look at it.
The saddest thing is, non of this had to happen. Had not business profits been the over-riding principle, these corporate interests could never have over-ridden the welfare of our people and their well-being. The body could handle anything thrown at it and healed itself from almost any but the most lethal of circumstances. Malnourished bodies, denied the right to natural food farmed in traditional, centuries- old- methods are not healthy, nor will pharmaceuticals (which are mostly 100% toxic and chemical in nature) do not heal, can not heal – - instead, further break the body down.
Alternative medical doctors are a major improvement as they have discovered their patients weren’t getting better. There are many varieties amongst them, but we need many, many more. As it stands, our insurance systems do not honor their expertise and manner of treating, thus, not paying the bills which is an affront to one’s choice of the kind of HEALTH CARE one chooses. So many problems, so much confusion. I should have just said AMEN, and shut up. Jan)
