Roundup in city-dwellers’ urine

Studies have already found Monsanto’s toxic herbicide Roundup in groundwater, in streams, and even in the rain and air of US agricultural areas. It’s been found in our blood and even crosses the placental barrier to enter our unborn fetuses. So are we surprised that a German university study has now found significant concentrations of Roundup’s main ingredient glyphosate in the urine of city dwellers?
- Perhaps we should be surprised at the amount: all the samples had concentrations of glyphosate at 5 to 20 times the limit for drinking water.
Roundup is used on railway lines, urban pavements, and roadsides. It’s used to dry down grain crops before harvest. But the single greatest use of Roundup is on genetically engineered “Roundup Ready” crops – designed not to die when sprayed with the poison.
Wouldn’t it be good if we too were Roundup Ready, so we wouldn’t get sick or die due to the virtually omnipresent toxin? After all, studies now link it to birth defects, endocrine disruption, cancer, and abnormal sperm.
As Roundup is a best-selling product worldwide and there are massive profits hanging on its continued use, the new testing initiative has fallen prey to the usual attempts at disinformation, distortion, and intimidation. Because of significant pressure by agrochemical representatives and the fear that the work of the lab could be influenced, the complete analytical data will only be published in the course of this year.” [Read the Article]
(How far does this have to go? Other countries are beginning to stand up against Monsanto, for what they are doing is unconscionable and injurious to the health of the planet itself and all the people who live here. Our babies are polluted before they ever leave the womb.
Our nation is powerful. No country dares challenge us – that’s a fact! But corruption has gone so far at this point in time that our government will not listen to the will of the people. We do not want GMO’s nor genetically engineered seeds. . . . we deeply resent that those in power in our government refuse to do the right thing. We are being poisoned and our health ruined, yet nothing changes. We have signed petitions by the millions, and still, people from the chemical industry, e.g. Monsanto etal, are put in leadership positions at the FDA, and anything having to do with agriculture departments – - guaranteeing that the interests of agribusiness remain preemptive.
Not only is this destroying everybody’s health and killing us off at earlier ages, but it is running up medical costs exorbitantly as there is no end to the assault against our physical bodies. Additionally, people want healthy food – - the way it had been grown up to about 50 years ago and throughout history – - it’s called “organic.” Too many people cannot afford to pay extra to buy healthy food, this remains available for the well-to-do.
Washington, you work for us. You are not our parent! You promised to serve our needs by doing the job you said you wanted to do.. Yet most of you do not even read the bills you sign into law. Shape up or you will be shipping out real soon. We out here in the country are sick of your behavior, your inaction and indifference to what we want and need and expect.
